In ‘Your psychoacoustic light ensemble’, Olafur employs low-frequency vibrations to create a spatial soundscape that is felt and seen, as well as heard. Audio waves are translated into visual phenomena, exploring the peripheries of our perception. The sound thus becomes visible, inviting viewers to "see" themselves hearing.⁠ ⁠ The last time Olafur dedicated as much attention to working with sound was for the exhibition 'Spatial vibrations’, also at Tanya Bonakdar Gallery, in 2008. For that exhibition, he created a drawing device driven by sound waves coming from an instrument activated by visitors. ⁠ ⁠ This work also relates back to the previous exhibition at Tanya Bonakdar Gallery, 'Your ocular relief’, 2021, which centered on slow projections formed by light flares shining off moving lenses.
