Addressing muscle imbalances during significant body changes, this low impact class focuses on increasing strength and endurance for those of us who have been away from regular fitness regimens, especially keeping in mind the changes in the body post-delivery! Gym workout #1 of building consistency with resistance training at 3.5 months postpartum. Finally got around to stitching this thing together! Here’s what I did after a warmup: Circuit 1 - 6 plank walk-outs with T-spine rotation - 10 bent over rows - 12 goblet squats X 3 with 90 seconds rest Circuit 2 - 8 bird dog crunches per side - 10 Tricep kickbacks - 12 deadlifts X3 with 90 seconds res A few important notes: - I spent the first 8 weeks postpartum focusing on my pelvic floor and reestablishing core engagement. If you’re postpartum and haven’t done so, start there and NOT with a workout like this. - I took my time to set up each movement and am committed to moving with integrity. If you’re starting over, take it as an opportunity to learn movement patterns properly instead of trying to jump back in “where you used to be.” Be where you are and get back to basics. - I’m syncing breath to movement. Weightlifting vinyasa, if you will. 😅 inhale on the extension and exhale on this contraction. This helps me establish a pace and makes this type of movement meditative. Full disclaimer: I am not certified to teach postpartum fitness, this is just what’s working for me. Consult your practitioners and seek more expertise if you’re in that chapter of life! I’ll be posting all my workouts while I’m on this journey so if you’re joining along, leave a comment or save this for later. 💪🏽🫶🏽✨

If you’re postpartum and your belly still feels soft, bloated, or disconnected — start here. These are 3 beginner-friendly moves I use with moms who want to heal their core without crunches or pressure. 1️⃣ Quadruped deep core breathing This is where healing begins. It reconnects your deep core (TVA) and teaches pressure to move in and up, not forward. It’s gentle, safe, and essential for diastasis recti healing. 2️⃣ knee adduction Pelvic floor matters more than you think. Strong pelvic floor support core & low back, unload the lower back, and help the belly stop pushing out. 3️⃣ Pelvic tilt This helps you feel your core with helping to pull that low belly in. It improves coordination between the pelvic floor, deep abs, and breath, which is key for postpartum recovery. These three moves: • support pelvic floor healing • activate the deep core safely • reduce lower belly bulge • improve posture and back support Do them slowly, with breath, and consistently. Postpartum isn’t what’s stopping you from making changes, it’s the way you talk to yourself that is. The excuses, the busy schedule that you tell yourself gives you no time to workout, or the eating habits you say you can’t kick. Start small. We don’t expect our babies to walk when they’re born. Why do you expect results from yourself after one day? Change takes time. Building healthy habits takes time. Change takes sacrifice and hard work. So keep going. It’s been 2 years since I started my postpartum fitness journey. Strong was the goal, not looks. ⭐️dm me and we can work through the challenges together. You CAN reach your goals, you CAN feel like yourself again after having kids. You CAN be confident, strong, beautiful AND a mother.
