Quick correction from yesterday’s episode: one important line was missing. The action item was to call your Senators and tell them to vote to ban mining at the Boundary Waters in Minnesota.
We’re 246-ish days from the midterms, and today’s thing is simple:
• Go to your state Secretary of State’s website
• Find out when your primary election is
• Make sure you understand the rules for voting where you live
Also remember to call your Senators and tell them:
• Vote NO on mining at the Boundary Waters

CSHouse Republican Conference Chair Elise Stefanik (R-NY) told reporters Tuesday that Rep. George Santos (R-NY) had “voluntarily removed himself” from his committee assignments amid multiple ethics and campaign finance investigations that were sparked after he admitted to fabricating key details about his biography while running for Congress.
“I supported George Santos as the nominee and the people of his district voted to elect him,” Rep. Stefanik said. “Now, we just got out of conference and George has voluntarily removed himself from committees as he goes through this process.”
Asked whether he should resign from the House, Rep. Stefanik said, “Ultimately voters are going to make that decision, whether it’s in the primary election or the general election.”

NPWyoming Republican Rep. Liz Cheney is laying out her future political plans, including a possible run against Donald Trump in 2024, after conceding defeat in the primary election for her House seat. Her loss on Tuesday followed unyielding criticism since the Jan. 6 attack on the Capitol of the former president and his efforts to subvert the 2020 election.
"This primary election is over, but now the real work begins," Cheney said in her concession speech Tuesday night, noting that she had called opponent Harriet Hageman to congratulate her.
Cheney acknowledged in a Wednesday interview on NBC's Today she was "thinking" about running for president in 2024.
