Two NS Units move off the line to Washington after swapping cars around for C&D. The SD40Es are derated Conrail SD50s and the SD60Es are uprated SD60s. Both rebuilds were done in Altoona in the early 2010s and have seen units in service since. Nowadays both models have been mothballed from road trains which gives a unique opportunity to see them almost anywhere on the system with a yard and some customers nearby.

Pre-Merger of CPKC,SD90MAC's had already gone through the modernization process of being rebuilt back in 2019 which would enhance the durability of these engines and meet regulations. #kansascitysouthernrailroad

A Norfolk Southern DC Traction Gevo heads east on the point of an intermodal train. These units are 20 years old and might soon be getting put through a rebuild program to get updates and AC traction. One is currently at Erie for that very reason and once it is complete one can assume testing would ensue to make sure the units are good enough.
