Nobody in India is talking about the world’s first quantum operating system. But China just made a very interesting move. They released a quantum OS called Origin Pilot. It was built by Origin Quantum in Hefei, and anyone can download it. Think of it like Windows, but for quantum computers. It helps manage qubits, schedule quantum tasks, and gives developers tools to write and test quantum programs. Why this matters. Most quantum computers today sit inside research labs. Very few developers get access to build on them. By opening the software layer, China is doing something strategic. They are inviting developers to start building on quantum infrastructure early. And in every computing shift, the biggest companies were not always the hardware makers. They were the platform builders. Microsoft owned the operating system layer. Google owned search infrastructure. Android owned the mobile ecosystem. AWS owned the cloud layer. The software layer shapes the ecosystem. Quantum computing could follow the same pattern. ai is enabling quantum for so long quantum was a lab experiment because it was so expensive and difficult to run real experiments on these qubits recently, however these AI models from @quantinuumqc and riverlane proved that specialized AI models can monitor qubits in real-time, predicting and fixing errors before they happen. Google's Willow chip is also using AI-Quantum feedback loop to perform a calculation in <5 minutes, which would've taken a classical supercomputer 10 septillion years!! what an exciting time to live in right now #quantum #ai #startup #tech

Google has just announced a major breakthrough in the world of quantum computing. Remember their Willow quantum chip that they unveiled in December of last year? Well. For the first time in HISTORY,  Willow has demonstrated the first-ever algorithm to achieve verifiable quantum advantage on hardware, surpassing even the fastest classical supercomputers (13,000x faster). It can compute the structure of a molecule, and paves a path towards real-world applications. You might remember that back in 2019, Google famously demonstrated that a quantum computer could solve a problem that would take the fastest classical supercomputer thousands of years. Today’s breakthrough moves us much closer to quantum computers that can drive major discoveries in areas like medicine and materials science. Now there is debate in the quantum community, whether this is all just marketing speak or a real step towards quantum supremacy. I’m merely an enthusiast, certainly not an expert, so I am definitely not smart enough to weight in. But at the very worse, this means more excitement and funding for physics research, which I think is a great thing.
