DAIt’s been over a week and I’m STILL lost for words! 🤯 The other weekend I skated with @TonyHawk at his private ramp and dropped in on that 13.5’ thing of beauty with his and another legend @AndyMac720’s guidance. 🙌 Absolute dream. I also watched them rip a killer doubles routine AND saw the new guard (@Reese__Nelson, @izuru_nagahara, @tommyratzin) throwing down stuff in their teens that I can only dream of! 🤯🔥 The future of vert skating is bright! 🛹✨

Thomas Ratzin was my High School Drama teacher & his long time companion Arnold Hruska taught me how magical the stage can be. They saw my talent & held the space for me to shine unlike no other teachers I've ever had.
From improv, to thematic shows to Beckett, they taught me an elite level of theatrical discipline & integrity. We had no idea how lucky we were...
But in the 90's, public school teachers weren't "out" & AIDS related illnesses were kept secret.
Although we heard rumors, they both continued to teach & direct. In fact, I was cast as the lead in the last show Mr. Ratzin directed. He passed away the day I started college as a BFA performance major.
It's been almost 30 years, & I continue to come back to this incredibly hard industry because THEY were the ones who taught me who I really am.
I will never forget my 1st real tech rehearsal as a freshman. I was opening the show with a monologue & Arnold held my hand & literally walked me into my spotlight.
Now I get the chance to shine it back on them.
I've made it this far in the audition process! With your donations, I'll have a better chance of being cast in this show that I've been wanting to be a part of for years.
Because every time I audition, take a dance class, a voice lesson, etc., their artistic legacy can continue to dazzle the stage.
