On The Finjan Show with Thmanyah founder Abdulrahman Abumalih, Jordanian-American tech entrepreneur and Replit CEO Amjad Masad said the Arab world must build its own Silicon Valley. Masad said the region needs a place that brings together people with the same “crazy excitement and ideas” that fuel innovation in California’s Silicon Valley — a hub where founders, engineers, and investors can take risks, fail fast, and build global companies from the Arab world. @amjad_masad @repl.it @thmanyah @abumalih

Not having a coding experience is becoming an advantage? 🤔 Because coders often get pulled into technical details. But great entrepreneurs think about the bigger picture. Users. Positioning. Distribution. Revenue. Today you can build faster than ever with AI tools. Which means the real question is no longer - Can you code? It’s - Can you solve a real problem? 💯 #replit #ceo #ai #founder #entreprenuer #productmanagement #reel #tpf

Replit Co-founder and CEO Amjad Masad believes the future of great companies will be built by employees who think like founders. Instead of waiting for instructions or staying confined to one department, the highest-value people look for problems, take ownership, and improve the business wherever help is needed. The most valuable employees of the future may not be specialists alone, but internal entrepreneurs. Companies that attract people who act like owners, think independently, and focus on making the whole business stronger will build faster, stronger, and more adaptable teams. Today, Replit is valued at approximately $1.1 billion following its Series B funding round, making it one of the most recognized developer platforms of its generation and a strong example of how empowering internal employees to think like founders can help build faster, stronger, and more innovative companies. >Follow us (@foundedceo) for more insights straight from the world’s leading founders & CEO’s 🤝 (Media Source: @ycombinator | YouTube)

Replit CEO Amjad Masad shook up the coding world by saying “I no longer think you should learn to code,” arguing that AI-powered coding agents will soon generate most software without humans writing syntax by hand. Masad echoed Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei’s prediction that AI could produce up to 90 percent of all code as models and agents get better at understanding natural language prompts. Masad clarified that while traditional programming skills may decline in relative importance, people still need problem-solving, systems thinking, and clear communication to guide AI systems effectively. His message reflects a shift from mastering languages and frameworks to designing solutions and supervising AI workflows, which could reshape education and job pathways in tech. Amjad Masad, CEO of Replit, has been vocal about his skepticism toward the idea of fully autonomous AGI. He believes AI can become highly capable, but not independent of human direction and intent. Modern language models are trained on trillions of tokens from historical data, effectively acting as large-scale libraries. They can recombine ideas at scale, but they don’t continuously learn from real-time changes in the world. In Masad’s view, net-new ideas still come from humans. AI may drive 10× productivity gains, but originality, judgment, and timing remain human-led advantages. Follow @growasentrepreneurs for more! We’ve raised $400M at a $9B valuation. @repl.it Investors include Georgian, G Squared, Prysm, 1789, YC, Coatue, a16z, Craft, and QIA, with strategic investments from Accenture, Databricks, Okta, and Tether. We’re also lucky to have incredible individuals backing us, including Shaq and Jared Leto. This funding will help us scale our ambition and expand beyond coding into AI systems that center human creativity. Replit is now used at 85% of the Fortune 500. We have an opportunity to help shape the future of work. One where AI abstracts away the boring parts and humans shine as creative directors. We’re also investing more globally, particularly in Europe, Asia, and the Middle East. Innovation can come from anywhere in the world, and we want to help unlock it.

@future.is.ai
Replit CEO Amjad Masad believes that traditional software engineers often make the "worst" vibe coders because they are conditioned to obsess over technical minutiae. Speaking on the Possible podcast in January 2026, he explained that many senior developers struggle to relinquish control to AI agents, instead attempting to micro-manage syntax and data structures. Masad argues that "vibe coding" — building software through natural language prompts — requires a gamer-like mindset of experimentation and "computational thinking" rather than the rigid, linear processes taught in traditional computer science. According to Masad, the most effective vibe coders are often product managers or CEOs who view software as a tool for creative expression rather than an industrial task. These "unleashed" builders focus on high-level intent and the "vibe" of the product, allowing AI to handle the accidental complexity that usually stalls development. While some engineers fear this approach produces "spaghetti code," Masad contends that the return on learning a small amount of code doubles every six months in this new era. As AI agents move from writing snippets to managing entire repositories, the ultimate edge will go to those who can effectively "vibe" with the machine to manifest their vision.
