ZAIt’s time to rewild the human experience again—outside of the boundaries we have placed between ourselves and the very nature we are composed of.
At our core, there is no separation between our species and the intelligence of the Earth. There is no us vs. nature. Survival perhaps, and our need to navigate the Earth’s conditions in order to do so. Yet is it really about navigating nature as though it’s opposed to us, or more so about living alongside nature—as an ally, as something that challenges us?
This is the wisdom that has carried our species for thousands of years—and so long as we are alive, it is not lost of us.
Rewilding is a process of remembrance. Our separation from this truth has caused a great deal of suffering on Earth.
We may not be able to change the entire course of humanity, but we surely can take part in a cascade of shifts simply by remembering who we are at the core.
Without the separation. Without the fear of nature. Without the lack of reverence for life itself.
And it may begin with how we engage with the world upon our first waking breath. Rather than turning to the phone or the email, or to the never-ending to-do list, we turn to the sun. We feel the heat on our face and witness the sky’s masterpiece unfolding before us.
We stay present with the water in our cup and on our hands—acknowledging its life force, feeling the immense gratitude that we even have it in the first place.
We slow down with our food—consciously knowing where it comes from and the labor and sacrifice that made it possible to nourish us.
We touch the ground beneath our feet and the trees without the boundaries of shoes and gloves and allow it to enliven our senses. To fully merge ourselves with the medicine all around us.
We feel the wind hitting our skin and give gratitude rather than running to the first sign of comfort. We reconnect ourselves not just in thought, but in complete immersion.
To rewild is really to return.

THRestoring a natural water spring I’ve been coming back to since childhood.
Nature always takes it back — leaves, mud, roots — and I always return to open it again.
There’s something powerful about drinking water that comes straight out of the ground. No pipes. No plastic. Just flow.
I’m restoring it to improve circulation so it becomes accessible not only to me, but to wildlife too. When water moves properly, everything settles and the ecosystem comes alive.
Next episode: raising the reservoir one more brick and adding gravel and small stones for natural filtration.
This land teaches patience.

AXAll the animals featured are having their habitats destroyed by the UK government. They are contracting biomass company Drax to cut down key biodiversity hotspots to burn the trees to generate energy, all in the name of ‘climate action’ and ‘carbon negative energy’ they say. Burning trees however is more polluting than coal.
Imagine what we could do with the billions of pounds we give to Drax every year. Imagine if funds were instead put into clean renewable energy, in restoring nature to pre-industrial levels. It’s not just about fighting back against Drax’s operations continuing, or getting worse, but fighting for the world we want to live in.
Habitats being destroyed include primarily the forests of the US southeast, British Columbia, the Baltic States, and Portugal.
Just a few of the animals at risk by the biomass industry/ Drax includes:
the Red Wolf, Cerulean Warbler, Louisiana black bear, Gopher Tortoise, Woodland Caribou, Canada Lynx, Pine Marten, The European Bison, Flying Squirrels, Capercaillie, Black Stork, Pygmy Owl, White-Tailed Eagle.
