I used to think my ribs were just tight. Bad posture. Too much stress. Not enough stretching. So I pushed harder. More yoga. More breathwork. More trying to “fix” myself. Nothing lasted. Here’s the wake up call: Your ribs don’t tighten because you’re failing. They tighten because you’ve been surviving. Holding it together. Staying strong. Swallowing what you really feel. Bracing for the next thing. If your breath is shallow… If your upper back always aches… If you feel tense even when life is “fine”… Your nervous system doesn’t feel safe yet. And this is what most people miss: You cannot stretch your way out of protection. Until your body feels safe, it will keep guarding you. Until your drainage pathways are open, it won’t fully let go. That’s why the tension keeps coming back. Not because you’re broken. Because your body is protecting you. What if the real shift isn’t doing more… but finally feeling safe? When safety comes first, the ribs soften. The breath deepens. The body stops fighting itself. If this feels like you, I’d love to show you how to start feeling safe in your body. FIX RIB PAIN!! 👏 Have you been told you have a “slipped rib?!?” Feel pain or a knot in your rib cage? 😩 Listen to this! 🙌 A HUGE misconception is that we believe that a rib can be slipped, dislocated, subluxed or “out of place”. When in reality it has EXTREMELY UNCOMMON for this to be the case! TRUTH is our ribcage is EXTREMELY STRONG! 💪 Just thing of its purpose... its there to protect our most important organs such as the heart💜& the lungs! It needs to be sturdy 👊 What is most commonly happening when you are getting pain in this area is inflammation of the cartilage that holds the rib in its joint! So how do we reduce the pain and inflammation? We get the ribs MOVING! 🏃‍♂️ It’s very SIMPLE. 1. DEEP BREATHING- When we take a deep breath-it helps to expand our lungs fully which gets our ribs moving- thus reducing pain! 2. ADD RESISTANCE To make it more challenging. I recommend starting with three sets of 10 deep breath’s and then if thats too easy add a ball for resistance like I showed in the reel! A therapist I work with showed me this amazing tip! 🙌🤗 Tag a friend that has rib pain! Rib flare is more than just “ribs sticking out”. Rib flare is an indication that a person’s ribcage is stuck in a particular position. When someone has rib flare, they often have mobility restrictions. 

If you notice you have some ribs that flare, you may also notice that your shoulders and back may feel stiff from time to time. 

To reduce your rib flare, improve ribcage motion, and increase shoulder mobility, try the exercises in this video!
