RUIt’s honestly infuriating how irresponsible TV serials have become when portraying Devtas.
One serial invents nonsense, and then ten others follow it like it’s scripture. Zero accountability, zero textual literacy.
Some idiotic serial decided to portray Indra as a wicked villain who schemes, behaves immorally, and somehow “gets away with everything”, and now that caricature is being recycled everywhere.
This is the same Indra who is the most invoked deity in the Ṛg Veda, who is bound by ṛta, and whose entire role is cosmic leadership under constant pressure.
And then there’s the Shani storyline. One serial shows Sajñā (Saranyu) Devi as a cruel, hostile woman who mistreats Shani and Chhāyā, and suddenly that becomes the default version.
There is no textual basis for Sajñā being wicked, abusive, or jealous. Chhāyā is not a rival wife, Shani is not a rejected child, and Surya is not some shallow man obsessed with appearances.
These serials project modern domestic cruelty, victim narratives, and moral binaries onto stories that are about function, energy, and cosmic balance, not personal spite.
Instead of engaging with that, writers choose the laziest route possible: invent a villain, invent abuse, invent curses, and call it “storytelling”.
What’s worse is that people then start quoting these serials as if they’re authoritative. Fiction gets repeated until it masquerades as scripture. Real texts are ignored.
This isn’t devotion. It’s mythological illiteracy with background music.
If you’re going to portray devtas, the bare minimum is to not butcher them into caricatures for TRPs.

This is the first mantra of the Ṛgveda.
This verse proclaims Lord Agni as the One who acts as the purohita—the priest who connects us with the Divine, while Himself being the Divine.
This truth forms the foundation of many cultures across the world. Agni and His effulgence are used to connect with divinity whenever people light candles and lamps. In a homa or yajña, we invoke Agni, who carries our offerings to the intended deities. In Zoroastrianism, sacred fire stands at the center of worship.
The siddha-s of Tamiḻakam equated the Absolute Reality with a form of divine fire-effulgence. Light—an expression of Agni—is seen as a symbol of divine presence in almost every culture.
Saint Vallalār of Tamiḻakam is said to have attained enlightenment when his gaze became fixed upon the dīpārādhana (ceremonial lamp) offered to the deity.
The celebrated Durgā Sūktam, although bearing the name of Durgā, primarily invokes Agni as the deity who leads us toward enlightenment—like a boatman ferrying us safely across the ocean of existence.
The truths received by the ṛṣi-s as a stream of cosmic sounds is what we call as the Veda-s—are truly reflected in cultures and traditions across the world. 🔥
In our culture, Agni is a deity, not an unconscious element. In your daily life, offer gratitude to this God, to Whom we owe our existence to. From the food to digest to survive and the pyre to incinerate you to ashes, is all governed by Agni.

INWe remember Indra as the thunder god, drunk on Soma, power personified. But the Rigveda also preserves something most people don't know: Indra's heartbreaking origin story. Mandala 4 describes how his mother hid him at birth, then abandoned him: "like a young calf who goes unlicked." He wandered alone. In deep distress, he cooked a dog's intestines.
And even after he slew the great serpent Vritra, the texts say fear possessed his heart, he fled like a frightened hawk across ninety-nine rivers. The Rigveda doesn't just celebrate Indra's power. It recognises his flaws. And that's what makes him lovable.
Do it happy, do it sad, do it angry, do it scared.

ADIn the sacred hymn of the Rigveda (Purusha Sukta 10.90), society is symbolically described as emerging from the Cosmic Being — Purusha.
Purusha Sukta (Rigveda 10.90.12)
ब्राह्मणोऽस्य मुखमासीद्
बाहू राजन्यः कृतः ।
ऊरू तदस्य यद्वैश्यः
पद्भ्यां शूद्रो अजायत ॥
Meaning:
From His mouth came the Brahmana,
From His arms the Kshatriya,
From His thighs the Vaishya,
From His feet the Shudra.
This imagery represents interdependence, not inequality —
just as all parts of the body are essential.
Clarified in the Bhagavad Gita (4.13)
In the Bhagavad Gita, Bhagavan Sri Krishna explains:
चातुर्वर्ण्यं मया सृष्टं
गुणकर्मविभागशः ।
तस्य कर्तारमपि मां
विद्ध्यकर्तारमव्ययम् ॥
Meaning:
"The fourfold order was created by Me according to the division of guna (qualities) and karma (actions)."
Here, varna is defined by nature and responsibility, not by birth.
🕉️ The Vedic vision was unity expressing through diversity.
When aligned with dharma, Varn Vyavastha sustains harmony.
When driven by ego, it becomes division.
The essence:
One Divine Source — Many Roles — Shared Dharma.
