AUTaking you through the mine shaft on Roloff Farms👀✨
The underground tunnel leads to a trap door in the barn. You might recognize the barn well if you watched Little People Big World😜 It’s where all the tv interviews took place for decades.
The mine shaft was one of the first things Jer’s dad built on the farm. We even found photos of Jer running through it 30 years ago before it was all overgrown😮
It’s so magical and storybook-esque and it was fun to see the wonder in all the kids eyes as they adventured through it during Bode’s party.

I sat down with the youngest Roloff son to discuss his new venture, Helvetia Gardens, and why he’s sounding the alarm on the proposed 1,700-acre industrial expansion in North Hillsboro. As a next-gen farmer committed to organic, in-house composting and market gardening, Jacob sees firsthand how urban encroachment and data center "fans" are impacting our local ecosystem and even our view of the stars. 🌌
"The 1,700 acres is just egregious to give away," Jacob says. It’s time to slow down and protect the prime soils that make our community what it is.
