Roger was a man of control, of calm judgment, and precise moves. He traveled the seas like a king destined for his throne. But Luffy? Luffy is chaos wrapped in sunshine. His freedom isn’t calculated—it’s wild, raw, and deeply personal. Just like Rocks.
Rocks wanted to change the world. Not conquer it for power alone—but to upend the system, to flip the world order, to challenge the gods. That same fire burns in Luffy. Not out of hatred, but from a pure sense of justice and rejection of control. Rocks gathered monsters under one flag. Luffy? He made friends out of monsters, outcasts, former enemies, and dreamers. And they follow him not because he’s their captain—but because he’s their freedom.
Rocks laughed in the face of Celestial Dragons. Luffy punched one. Rocks was considered the greatest threat the World Government had ever seen. So is Luffy. Not because of strength—but because both inspire others to break free.
And while Roger passed down his will quietly, Luffy does it loud, like a storm crashing into the gates of heaven.
It’s wild to think about.
The pirate the world fears the most and the pirate we cheer for… might be sailing with the same storm in their soul.
One chased chaos to tear down kings.
The other, unknowingly, is doing the same.
And maybe that’s why they fear him.
Because Luffy isn’t Roger’s shadow.
He might be Rocks’ echo.
