Challenge yourself to keep your strokes long & flowing. Find your rhythm & hold it! - 5x5 minutes with 1 minute rest between each one. - Change stroke rate every minute: 18, 22, 24, 22, 18. How to Use the Rowing Machine: Part 2 (So you don’t offend rowers 😅 + actually get more power this way) FIRST: take a few strokes to turn the monitor on → then hit Menu > Just Row. DISPLAY SETUP:
• Use meters + set the layout like you see in the video.
• Other displays have their purpose, but for beginners, stick to one consistent layout. It helps you learn pacing and consistency. HOW TO READ THE SCREEN:
🕒 Top Left = Timer 
↔️ Top Right = Stroke Rate (s/m) → how many strokes you’ll complete per minute = how fast you go back and forth on the machine. 
⚡ Big Center Numbers = Split Time (e.g. 2:17/500m) → how fast you’d row 500m if every stroke was like your last one. This updates every stroke based on your power. 
📏 Box Below Split Time = Total Distance → how many meters you’ve rowed 
🧮 Box Right Below the Middle Bold Line = Average Split → your average 500m pace over the whole session. Including all your good, bad, and mediocre strokes. WHY THE 5-MINUTE PIECE? When I was a beginner, my coach had me row for 5 min at 20 s/m everyday before practice to develop consistent power. The goal was to build strength and leverage at lower rates. This way, when I rowed at higher stroke rates later, I’d be stronger, more efficient, and ultimately faster. 
• GOAL: hold a steady pace like 2:20/500m the ENTIRE TIME (don’t go fast then crash).
• Just like running: you’ll cover more ground with a steady run than with random sprints + walks. 📉 If 2:20 was easy → next time try for 2:15
🔥 If it was too hard → try 2:25 or 2:30, then work down over time This is why you don’t NEED the fan at a 10. You can create resistance by how hard you row, not how high the fan setting is. FINAL NOTE: This is all beginner-focused. Yes, more advanced rowers use different metrics, setups, and training styles, which is great!
