today was a first for me. it was kind of scary & uncomfortable. it was also empowering & i felt really good. i try to be transparent & real, especially here in this space. i was struggling with some negative self talk today. i used to feel like i had to be “in shape” or “super skinny” to start running. like i’d work out 5 days a week & still felt like i couldn’t run. turns out you don’t have to be “super skinny” to run. you also don’t have to be “super skinny” to run in only a sports bra. i always see all these videos on instagram of these cute girls running or working out in just a sports bra & i used to always think - “i would never be able to wear that” but WHYYYY?! it’s no secret my weight has fluctuated over the years & i’ve always struggled with how i’ve felt. neither version of my body is better or worse. i’ve always just wanted to FEEL good & FEEL strong. i still have days where i feel just as strong as i did when i was 50lbs heavier & i feel great. i also still have days where i struggle mentally with my body & how it makes me feel. i guess this is just your reminder to do what feels good & sometimes you have to do things that feel uncomfortable so that you can make yourself more comfortable. that’s where the magic & growth happens. if you like that workout set, wear it. if you like to run, do it. don’t let what you look like or your insecurities or what you believe your limits are stop you from doing things you truly want to do. your body does not define your worth. repeat after me - i am strong. i am beautiful. i am proud of myself & i am worth being proud of. my body is beautiful & i want to treat it well. ✨how we talk to ourselves matters✨ anyways - my two cents that nobody asked for. cheers #running #runninginalaska #positivebodytalk #heralaskalife #optoutside #inmyrunningera #girlrunner #bodytalk #mindset #howwetalk #innerselftalk #positivevibes #affirmations #dailyaffirmations #runfulness #mindfulness #positiveselftalk
