DDA wildfire has severely damaged forest areas in the hill town of Nainital on Sunday (April 19), with strong winds causing the blaze to spread toward nearby cantonment areas, according to officials.
Forest authorities said the fire expanded rapidly due to dry conditions and gusty winds, a common risk during India’s pre-monsoon fire season from March to June. Efforts are underway to contain the situation.
