Great runners like Kipchoge don’t rely on talent but hard work. What’s his secret? He runs crazy volume but 80%+ of his runs are easy! What does this mean? 👀 - Crazy volume but mainly low intensity. He runs 200km a week but at zone 2 (easy pace). - He trains in a groups. He trains with big groups to hold each other accountable on every run - Consistency. He runs the same routes, at the same time, no flashy trends, just grind. - Focuses on recovery. Easy days are actually easy so that hard days are actually hard! Why it works? 🏔️ - Builds massive aerobic capacity - Keeps him injury free - Creates a mental flow from running in groups - Enforced discipline. He doesn’t run too hard too often. A mistake we all make. How you can apply this to your training: ⚡️ 1. Run with others at least once a week. Especially easy runs 2. Make sure you’re doing mainly zone 2 running 3.
