We spent the day capturing interviews and plenty of slick b-roll around the hotel — loads of texture, colour and character to work with. A dream backdrop for this one. Taking you behind the scenes of my most recent interview set 🎥 This setup is built around shaping light so the subject looks natural, flattering, and separated from the background. A strong key light bounced into an 8x8 gives a soft wrap, a controlled fill balances the shadows, and the tube adding a subtle rim light gives just enough separation to keep things from feeling flat. From there, it’s all about dialing in focal lengths and making sure the audio is just as clean as the image. A lot of people focus only on the camera when shooting interviews, but the real difference comes from lighting and sound.
