The freedom sewing gives you is unmatched!! 🪡 I loved this gorgeous colourful fabric gifted from @beglarianfabrics - and so enjoyed making my ideal wedding guest outfit from it 💍 I feel like every year I sew I get a bit bolder, and I’m finally getting out of my block colours phase and into some funky patterns and prints! 🌈 Coming up next I have a gorgeous green and white cotton that I’m going to use to make my graduation dress, and I can’t wait 💚 At some point, I’d love to get all my homemade clothes together and go through and make a timeline to see how my style has changed. I’ve definitely got neater, but I think my clothes have got more exciting too. 🪡 The heaviest charity shop curtain find with the most amazing floral print. Giving me such an Oscar De La Renta feel. Not like me to not remember but I’m pretty sure these were Laura Ashley ✂️ This dress is the perfect example of how a great basic pattern can create so many different garments. The princess seamed bodice is the #gsdarlingdress from @bygraciesteel and I also used this pattern for the bodice of my last striped dress I posted, as well as the green leather dress. I just self drafted sleeves and a skirt and added a huge chunky zip to toughen up the back a bit 🧵 I dipped the first ruffle layer at the back to make the hem high low and it could probably have been more dramatic but I didn’t wanna lose too much length from the front as this is my perfect length 🌸 Such a versatile piece, can be dressed up or down for literally anything and I’ve already had so much wear. Me and my bestie Kate always talk about CHUCK ON dresses and this is my kind of chuck on dress… easy and comfy but still looks put together and like you’ve made an effort. Obviously with the all important, MOSt important factor - fun to wear ✨😍

Ok! I’m flattered to have got hundreds of new followers on my Instagram account since I was outed as one of this years Sewing Bees! I’ve had my Insta account for years and only posted 6!!! posts in that time 🤦‍♀️🤣and none of my sewing makes! 🤷‍♀️ so! I’ve decided to up my game and start posting away!! Yesterday I was in Sussex for an exhibition of my makes -along with my lovely fellow sewers Penny and Jackie - over the past six months. I’ve been going to Claire’s sewing school there where I’ve been working on a portfolio. I’ve made dozens of things for me and for hubby and grandchildren other family and friends.This video shows some of the stuff I’ve made and I promise to post loads of stuff in the future! Happy Sewing everyone! And thanks for following me! 🤩
