💥 STOP Stretching Your Sciatica! ❌ If you have sciatica, then you probably have that tight burning down the back of your leg But the problem is not in your leg, it stems from the low back! So the biggest mistake you can make is continually stretching the leg, hoping it gets better Because a sensitive nerve does not want to be stretched, and this can prevent you from healing! So how do you fix this without stretching with the pain is? 🔑 The key here is to address sciatica at the root, which is in the low back! These common movements often worsen symptoms by increasing disc pressure or pulling directly on the sciatic nerve: ❌ Knees-to-chest — pushes the disc backward and compromises the nerve ❌ Side bends — create uneven spinal pressure and flare pain ❌ Standing forward bends — add weight, compression, and nerve tension With sciatica, stretching everything isn’t the solution. If you ever get Sciatica then do this for some relief 👇 Sciatica is pain and/or numbness and tingling that runs down your leg🦵🏼 This nerve pain usually comes from an issue in your lower back where the nerve is compressed or irritated 💥 Here are two quick and easy exercises to get some quick relief 👌🏼 1️⃣ Flexion Decompression: This takes pressure off the nerve root and aims to decompress the spine vertically 2️⃣ Side Bend Decompressions: Only perform this with the painful side facing up and the towel/cushion under the good side - the goal is to open and decompress the pinched/irritated side Save this post and work on these exercises 2-3x daily and see if that helps 🙏🏽

The sciatic nerve is a long nerve that originates at the lower back and runs all the way down towards the leg. When this nerve is pressed it can send a sharp shooting pain and this can make daily functioning difficult. ➡️Most common reason for sciatic pain is a herniated disk in the lumbar spine or a bone spur growth. This can irritate the nerve as a result causing the discomfort. ➡️The sciatic pain can show up in different points. It could run the entire length from back to foot. It could also just be some isolated areas such as the lower back or piriformis or back of thigh or the lower leg. ➡️ It is important to first identify what is causing the pain. If the disk herniation is severe then it needs to be addressed accordingly. ➡️ Always remember to get diagnosed by an expert first.
