__This is the closeup throw effect! And here’s how you do it ✨

(This video is shot entirely on the Sony ZV-1 ii)
1. Shoot the Footage
• Set your frame rate to 120 fps for smooth slow motion.
• Film two shots:
• A shot of you pretending to throw the camera.
• A close-up shot of the camera spinning.
• Use the Background Defocus feature on the ZV1 ii to create background blur for easier background removal.
2. Spin the Camera
• Hold the camera by its side strap and let it spin for the close-up shot.
3. Edit the Clips in CapCut
• Prepare the spinning shot
• Slow down the footage.
• Use “Remove Background” → “Custom Removal” to isolate only the camera (leave out the strap).
• Overlay the clips
• Add the spinning shot below the main clip as an overlay.
• Align the spinning camera with your hand as you “throw” it.
• Create a keyframe where the camera starts small, then grows larger after a few frames.
• Use the “Ease Out” graph for smoother animation.
4. Add the Blur Effect
• Go to Video Effects → Blur and add an adjustment layer.
• Create keyframes:
• Start with 0% blur when the camera is small.
• Increase to 50%-85% blur when the object fills the screen.

__What is the best camera to start content creation in 2024? 🤔

I understand that most beginners prioritise price and portability. While this isn’t the cheapest piece of kit, we can account for the fact that it features an 18mm to 50mm zoom lens which is plenty to get you wide shots and closeup shots! And best part is that you don’t need to invest extra money into lenses now!
I used this camera quite a lot these days simply because of how compact it is. S-Log 2 looks amazing and is easy to grade in post (all the shots are in S-Log 2!). The active stabilisation is actually very good on here along with sound that records in all directions customisable to your needs.
I find the internal ND filter especially helpful in broad daylight. Because pocketable cameras like this do not have a filter thread due to moving components, the internal ND filter solves a long standing problem lots of these cameras have. No need to deal with tiny magnetic filters dropping off. Just…. a simple, convenient, lightweight and robust camera.
