This is how hares could evolve in the future! 🐇 This design was inspired by the work of Dougal Dixon, more specifically the "rabbuck" in After Man - A Zoology of the Future. It is one of the best books on speculative evolution! Hares are known for their long hind legs, which allow them to move quickly and escape predators. However, in an environment with more open grasslands, they may face different challenges and pressures than they do in wooded areas. One potential adaptation that could help hares better survive in open grasslands would be the evolution of longer legs and necks. Longer legs would allow them to run faster and cover more ground, making it harder for predators to catch them. A longer neck would also allow hares to see farther and spot predators from a greater distance, which would also increase their chances of survival.
