That strangled, tight neck feeling when you sing could actually be coming from the way you sing your consonants!! Consonants are our best friend and worst enemy in singing! Try singing "la" without closing your jaw up and down. Instead keep your mouth open the whole time. Sounds like "l" as is lion and "t" as in today can unnecessarily block our sound from flowing easily! Watch out for these sounds in the middle of words!! Flip the "l" or "t" in the middle of words (try speaking the word "silly" with a flipped "l" instead of closing on it). This will help you sing freely without adding hiccups or extra tension to your singing. Some consonants like "m" and "f" require a closed mouth! Play around with consonants sounds and see which sounds you don't need to close your mouth on! Closing your mouth briefly stops your sound so we lose the beautiful smoothness in your singing!

This amazing woman came in with issues in her jaw, popping ears, neck pain, and tingling down into her hands. She left without any of it. Now, most people would think these are all separate issues. But it's actually all one and the same. ㅤ When the jaw is tight, it tightens the neck; when the neck is tight, it blocks flow through the arms and hands. ㅤ In other words, it's all connected! ㅤ If you have one area of the body that is tight, it's going to impact all. ㅤ After some work on her face, she left without any of these symptoms.
