IN#Alert: Police Brutality Exposed in Kanpur
A shocking video from Kidwai Nagar, Kanpur shows SI Amit Vikram Tripathi slapping, kicking, and verbally assaulting a student at the police outpost as the student pleads “How is this lawful?”
The student was detained for allegedly overspeeding, his bike seized, and when he questioned the officer, the confrontation escalated violently.
Following public outrage, the Kanpur police suspended the officer and ordered a departmental inquiry.
This is not an isolated case. Across India:
• In Delhi’s Jamia Millia Islamia, police used batons and forced entry into the campus during student protests, injuring dozens.
• In Kolkata (2024), police fired tear gas and used force against protesters demanding justice for a trainee doctor’s rape and murder.
What do we demand?
