The air was biting and the world was muffled under a heavy, white blanket. It was late afternoon, just as the Great Blizzard of 2026 began to subside, leaving the landscape unrecognizable. Aston was clearing the path to his cabin when a flash of movement—or perhaps just a trick of the light—caught his eye near the edge of the woods. The Discovery As he waded through the waist-deep drifts, he saw a small, tufted tail poking out from the powder. He dug frantically, expecting a lost cub of a local mountain lion. Instead, his hands brushed against fur as white as the snow itself. It was a male white lion cub, shivering and barely breathing. "Hold on, little one," Aston whispered, tucking the freezing creature inside his heavy wool coat, right against his chest. Years of Devotion Aston didn't just give the lion a home; he gave him a life. He named the cub Snow, and their bond grew stronger with every passing season. The Early Days: Aston stayed up through the nights, bottle-feeding Snow and using warm blankets to mimic the warmth of a pride. The Bond: They became an inseparable pair. While other lions grew wild and distant, Snow looked at Aston with a gaze of pure, unwavering trust. The Growth: The tiny ball of fur eventually transformed into a magnificent beast, weighing hundreds of pounds with a thick, ivory mane that shimmered like frost. A Heartfelt Journey Aston raised Snow with a "sincere heart," never treating him like a pet or a prisoner, but like a brother. He built a vast, open sanctuary for him, ensuring the lion had the freedom he deserved while still remaining Snow's "person." Today, if you visit that quiet valley, you might see a man sitting on a porch with a massive white lion resting his heavy head on the man's lap—a living testament to a kindness that started in the cold but burned bright enough to last a lifetime.

kimin ihtiyacı varsa onu bulsun bu video. ve evet, geçecek. çünkü “geçmediği görülmedi.” ♥️ #güzelşeylerdenkonuşalım #özşefkat ENG: once, i would sink deeper into sadness, thinking that what i was going through would “never pass.” these days, though, a comforting voice within reminds me that it will pass, that it will subside. even if it doesn’t disappear entirely, it tells me i can learn, in some way or another, to live with it. that voice isn’t constant; it falters, grows faint, but it always returns stronger. it doesn’t erase the sorrow or make it vanish. but it lightens the weight, softens the edges of the pain. maybe that is what hope really is, learning to hold your own hand.

MAN CAUGHT BY STORM SURGE WHILE ON DEBRIS FROM COLLAPSED HOUSE! 🤯 - @danielpullen and I were out documenting storm damage in Buxton on Oct. 28, as 5 oceanfront houses collapsed during the last Nor’Easter.  Typically once you get 2hrs past high tide, the surges subside quite a bit.  But on this day, one of the hardest hitting sets of the tide cycle swept in 2.5hrs past High Tide.  It caught Daniel off guard as he was perched on top of some debris, taking a photo of a local residents home that was still standing (and more recently moved inland!).  Sometimes even the best get surprised!  While yes, we are both laughing, it’s a “nervous laughter” in response to how fortunate it was he got out unscathed.  Neither one of us find the situation our town is in comical, and both have struggled emotionally as we’ve been out documenting whats been happening.  This is the place we grew up, & it’s hard to see it change like this. - Also, Daniel Pullen is an established local photographer, whos lineage goes back generations of Cape Hatteras Lighthouse Keepers… So while he is putting himself in some precarious positions to shoot photos, he is also very aware of the lay of the land, and the sea, in the areas he shoots.  He documents the History of Cape Hatteras as its happening, to help share the story of this Island with those outside of here, while also preserving those memories for those of us who call it home. Our entire community is grateful for Daniel, & the uncomfortable positions he puts himself to document a unique perspective on this special island. Give him a follow to see more 👍🏼
