Test knitters needed 🧶 #WinnieTop is ready for test knitting! If you don’t have to make the whole thing 3 times like me, it’s actually a pretty quick one. Obviously mine is a single colour but contrast edgings could look fab if anyone fancies it 👀 All the info on the application form, link in my bio! Please note the V-neck is reasonably low (not a plunge neck as such and it easily covers a bra, but definitely not a high V). Achieving the perfect elegant-but-not-risque neckline took several attempts, and checking the fit across different body shapes will be a key part of the test knit. If you're new to knitting pattern design, it’s totally normal to feel a bit unsure about what test knitting actually is. Hopefully this helps clear things up! It isn’t a replacement for tech editing, and it’s not the stage where test knitters are supposed to find errors for you. That part should already be sorted in tech editing. Test knitting is really the beta-testing stage. It shows you how clear your pattern is to other knitters and how the fit behaves across sizes you haven't been able to knit yourself. That kind of feedback is what strengthens the final pattern and makes it easier for everyone to follow. Congratulations @ohwhata.knit on the release of their #superbasictee knitting pattern! I had the pleasure of test knitting for Tatjana, and I couldn’t be more pleased with the final garment. The shape and size is perfect for a, well, super basic tee, and as super basic tees goes, this one is so versatile. I used 6.5 skeins (~1330m) of Tynd kindly gifted from @woolfolk_yarn — such a lovely, lofty merino. Black yarn might look just like black yarn, but I gasped when I received it! My bust measures 82cm, and the pattern measurements put me in a “Small”. My final tee has 40cm of positive ease. Mods: In the sleeves, I did one fewer set of decreases because I have such short arms. For the body, I knit 5 fewer rows than stated in the pattern.

Lumme tee on my needles 🌸✨️ I have made a couple of alterations to this tee version of my super popular Lumme pullover pattern, the most obvious change being the short sleeves ofc. I also changed the neckband to an i-cord and shortened the color work section by swapping the last few rows to another stitch pattern. I left out the cuff ribbing and will do folded cuffs and hem instead. I'm also working this with @knittingforolive Pure silk held double which means the gauge is tighter than in the original design. You can select the depth of your V neck and the shape of the skirt, so it fits your body type, which is usually my concern with this shape of a dress but the final fit is perfect 🙌🏻 Yarn: Wonderful bologna yarn from @from.white.to 🎄 Obsessed with the color and only needed 300gr for the whole thing!
