The BEST waterfall hike in the USA… Share this with someone who loves waterfalls ➡️ Follow @wanderlusttravelcouple for more bucketlist travel inspo 👩🏽‍🤝‍👨🏼 It’s 1 easy hike… That will take you to 10 different waterfalls… and 4 of them are waterfalls that you can walk behind 🤯 This is easily the biggest bang for your buck in America as far as chasing waterfalls go 💦 Welcome to The Trail of 10 Falls… located in Silver Falls State Park 📍 It’s about 1 hour south of Portland, Oregon just outside the small town of Silverton 🚗 The trail is a loop that’s right under 8 miles long. Even with its longer length it’s still a hike that’s doable for just about anyone. It’s pretty flat overall and the trail is very well maintained 🥾 It is quite popular and busy but honestly you’re still able to get plenty of alone time with each and every waterfall. Having people on the trail with you makes it feel safe if maybe you are not used to hiking this kind of distance 😍 There are quite are a few different access points to this trail so you could easily jump in at different points and see certain waterfalls if you don’t feel like doing the whole thing ♥️ Be sure to add this one to your bucketlist and save this post for your next trip to the Pacific Northwest ⤵️ #Waterfall #Oregon #TrailOfTenFalls #SilverFallsStatePark #PNW

How to do this iconic Oregon hike 👇👇 If you are visiting Oregon this year - save this post for your future travels! 🫶 The Trail of Ten Falls at Silver Falls State Park is the best bang for your buck hike in terms of seeing the most amount of waterfalls in a short amount of time. This is a hike we recommend to people when they only have a day to see some sights as it is only an hour from Portland. This hike is about 7.5 miles with 1,200 feet of elevation gain. Most of the gain is not incline, but stairs which are easier to navigate for most people. To get the most out of this hike… here are a few tips: 🔂 Do this hike clockwise! Since it is a loop, this is the recommended way to do the hike. We recommend parking at the South Falls lot and starting the hike from there. 💲 Don’t forget your credit card! This is a state park so 5 dollars is needed to park at some parking lots. There are machines to make payment easy. 💦 You get to walk behind FOUR waterfalls so expect to get a little wet. During the colder months we recommend bringing a rain jacket to stay dry. 🧭 Go to the park website prior to your hike to grab the trail map or download an app like @alltrails to make sure you stop and see all 10 falls. There are one or two that require a side trail to see. 🐶 Dogs cannot hike the Trail of Ten Falls. If you want to bring your pups to the park we recommend hiking the Rim Trail. 🌞 This is a popular hike so get up early to best the crowds! Have you done this hike before!? The trail is about an hour from Portland and is amazing to do any time of year! 📍Trail of 10 Falls at Silver Falls State Park 🥾This hike is a little over 7 miles with 1,200 feet of elevation gain. 🔁 This trail is a loop and we recommend parking/starting from the South Falls lot and hiking clockwise. 💰Parking costs $5 - you can pay via card at the parking lots. 🐶No dogs are allowed on this hike but they are allowed on other trails in the state park. 💦You get to walk behind 4 waterfalls on this hike and depending on the flow, you can get soaked! Be prepared with a rain jacket on colder days. 📲To make sure you see all 10 waterfalls, download the trail on @alltrails prior to going! There are one or two tucked away off the loop. Mossy canyon walls, a rushing creek, and 10 waterfalls packed into 1 loop, with 4 you can literally walk behind.  📍 Where Silver Falls State Park near Sublimity, Oregon Trailheads: South Falls District or North Falls Trailhead  🥾 Trail details Trail of Ten Falls Loop: 7.2 miles Route: Canyon Trail plus Rim Trail Difficulty: moderate with some steep sections Plan for: about 3 to 5 hours depending on stops  🌊 The 10 waterfalls you will hit South Falls Lower South Falls North Falls Upper North Falls Twin Falls Middle North Falls Drake Falls Double Falls Lower North Falls Winter Falls  🧭 How to hike it Start at South Falls for the iconic first view. 💧SAVE THIS OREGON WATERFALL HIKE! 📍The Trail of 10 Falls, near Mehama, OR 🧭You’ll find total trip ranges of anywhere from 7.2 to 7.8 miles for this loop style hike, but be aware that they don’t include any off shoot short hikes to go back behind some of the falls. (We calculated closer to 9 miles for ourselves) 🥾This is listed as moderate, which I would agree with, and is also family friendly. But you’ll be doing lots of up and down! (The overall elevation gain says 1,181 ft). We found that we were either going up or down most of the time, not a ton of flat ground. Paths are pretty well maintained. ⏰ With lots of photo stops, 1 bathroom break, and keeping a good pace in between falls, it took us 4 hours to complete. It is EPIC to see all of these in one hike! You can drive to several of them and do very short walks up to them, but we wanted this experience in its totality. Besides, the hiking views in between falls are gorgeous 🤩 Moss covered trees, and you’ll follow Silver Creek pretty much the entire way.
