Don’t recommend getting sick before a race I swear this cycle hasn’t been it but I already spent my money to do it and in this economy I’m not letting it go to waste. The good thing is I have trained up to 6 miles and my race is 8.3. And I’ve done plenty of half marathons before to know what 8 feels like. There also is no time limit so if I have to walk more than expected it will be ok. This is literally gonna be a fun race and yes my heart rate will be in the 180s. Really need to lock in after this race and hopefully smooth sailing after graduation in a month 🫣 the calibrate and save has really made my treadmill option on my watch be very close to the tread 👏🏽👏🏽 The hardest part post sickness is getting back in the routine, I went to run this am and it downpoured as soon as I walked out but I knew today I needed to set the tone for the week. ⚡️Si entrenas en cinta, hay cosas que tienes que saber para que tus entrenamientos tengan sentido. 👉🏼La cinta no te da el ritmo, te da la velocidad. Para saber a cuánto vas, divide 60 entre los km/h que marca: velocidad 10 = 6:00 min/km, velocidad 8 = 7:30 min/km. Muchas personas llevan meses entrenando sin saber exactamente a qué ritmo corren. 👉🏼El ritmo en cinta no es comparable al de la calle. En exterior hay resistencia del aire y tú generas toda la propulsión; en cinta, la banda te ayuda. Velocidad 10 en cinta equivale en esfuerzo a aproximadamente 5:30-5:45 en calle (aunque realmente no equivalga a ese ritmo real). 👉🏼Pon siempre 1% de inclinación para compensar esa diferencia y que el esfuerzo se parezca más a correr en exterior. 👉🏼Tu reloj no mide bien en interior. Sin GPS, la distancia y el ritmo que te muestra son una estimación (por eso a veces vas a paso de tortuga y te marca 4:00/km o vas rapidísimo y pone 6:50/kme. Si quieres datos fiables, usa un pod de carrera en el pie. 👉🏼El pulso puede sorprenderte si comparas cinta con calle al mismo ritmo marcado. Si en cinta vas a 6:00/km y en calle intentas mantener ese mismo ritmo, vas a notar que cuesta más y el pulso sube porque en exterior el esfuerzo real es mayor. 👉🏼La cinta es ideal para trabajar la técnica. El ritmo constante te permite centrarte en la cadencia, la postura y el apoyo del pie sin distracciones. What forward lean ACTUALLY means👇👀⁣ ⁣ In the first clip, I was leaning from my hips.⁣ ⁣ In the second, I was leaning from my ankles and LEADING with my hips.⁣ ⁣ The second is more efficient running form because it positions your body to better absorb impact and use less energy to keep moving forward.⁣ ⁣ More efficient running = Easier running ✅⁣ ⁣ If you don’t know how to communicate this to your body -⁣ ⁣ Try leaning against a wall until your belly button is just over your toes. Hips forward. Chest tall. Then while keeping this posture, release your hands and “catch yourself” by taking really small steps.⁣ ⁣ If you take a step back, you can try this from standing. Clocked 71:35 today, matching last year’s effort here @ 6,000ft, but this time with a 1% incline the whole way! 🙌 After knee surgery, that's something I haven't been able to do for several years.. so this one feels like real progress!🙏📈 #mindsetmatters . . . . .
