Who wants a bite of this 38.6 pound steak?? Another beauty from @mosidamarket smoked on my @traegergrills Woodridge Pro for 8 hours at 275°. I do have to confess though… i’m counting this one as one of my failed cooks. Let me explain. I thawed this meat for 2 days and figured it was fully thawed. Once i prepped it and stuck a @meatermade probe in it, quickly realized that the center was still frozen solid. It was either wait another day or just roll with it. I went ahead with it and a cook that should have took 4 to 5 hours tops at that cooking temperature, took a solid 8 hours and still wasn’t quite ready to come off the grill. The sun had just set and i went ahead and pulled it off. I knew I was gonna chop the meat up anyways and make a bunch of taco and nacho meat. 6 hours in, the center of the steak was still only at 40° internal. It finally reached 105° internal when I finally decided to pull it off. You win some, you lose some. My lesson learned on this cook is make sure whatever protein I’m smoking, make sure it’s 100% thawed. My advice is just to start playing. Make something. It may not go as planned, but you will learn by doing! Do you agree? ---- My first day back in the studio after being sick for a week! The error part of trial and error is actually my favorite. People think I’m joking but I’m being so fr! Making mistakes is how we learn and BOY DO I LOVE LEARNING! Having to unravel and redo is not a failure, I’m not a bad crocheter (or a bad person) just because I realized it wasn’t going the way I wanted to. The failure would have been to keep going in the wrong direction and convincing myself it’s good. Realizing that fck ups are part of the process is so liberating, I actually recommend you do it intentionally from time to time! Let me know about your feelings on the error part in trial and error in the comments (no judgement I promise) #crochet #trialanderror
