You could honestly hit 2 beaches per day on your week-long vacation and still not see them all! Every beach and bay is a little different which made them so fun to explore! Here are some of our favorites: 🐢 𝐅𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐢𝐬 𝐁𝐚𝐲: Perfect for swimming, snorkeling, and spotting sea turtles (we saw so many here!). Less crowded than nearby beaches and stunning at sunset! A nearby 0.7mi loop trail is great for birdwatching, and leads to sugar mill ruins. Free. 🧂 𝐒𝐚𝐥𝐭 𝐏𝐨𝐧𝐝 𝐁𝐚𝐲: A secluded gem with stunning blue waters and neighboring pink salt pond lagoon. Accessed via a short hike that is the start of the Ram Head Trail (which we highly recommend!). Free. 🍋 𝐖𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐥𝐞𝐦𝐨𝐧 𝐂𝐚𝐲: One of St. John’s best snorkeling spots with vibrant coral reefs and abundant marine life. Paddle or swim out to the island! The beach is rocky, and does require a 2mi round-trip hike along the Leinster Bay Trail from Annaberg Plantation. Free. 🥮 𝐂𝐢𝐧𝐧𝐚𝐦𝐨𝐧 𝐁𝐚𝐲: St. John’s longest beach with soft white sand, historical ruins, and an instagrammable window to the sea. Amenities include restrooms, showers, rentals, campground, and a food truck for lunch and cocktails. Free. 🪸 𝐑𝐞𝐞𝐟 𝐁𝐚𝐲: A ~5mi down-and-back trail leads to the beautiful, remote white sands of Reef Bay Beach, only accessed via hiking or boat! 🍹 𝐌𝐚𝐡𝐨 𝐁𝐚𝐲: Famous for its calm, shallow waters, food trucks serving lunch and cocktails, and souvenir shops. Free. 🤩 𝐓𝐫𝐮𝐧𝐤 𝐁𝐚𝐲: Voted “The World’s Best Beach” in 2024 and we can see why! Get there early for parking or take a cab. 3️⃣ You can order food and drinks from the snack shack. We love the Pain Killers (adult beverage) 4️⃣ There’s an underground snorkeling trail. You can bring your own snorkel equipment or rent one there. You can also rent chairs too 5️⃣ Amenities include - bathrooms, showers, and snack shack. 6️⃣ Trunk Bay is the most popular and most photographed beach in the Virgin Islands. You can easily visit multiple islands in one trip! ☀️ WHEN TO GO -The USVI are a year-round destination, with peak season running from December to April. Hurricane season is typically June through November — though great deals can be found during this time. ✈️ HOW TO GET THERE -You’ll fly into either Cyril E. King Airport (STT) on St. Thomas or Henry E. Rohlsen Airport (STX) on St. Croix. From St. Thomas, it’s an easy ferry ride to St. John. No passport needed for Americans! 🏠 WHERE TO STAY -All islands offer a mix of resorts, boutique hotels, and vacation rentals. If you want a quieter, more natural experience, stay on St. John. For more dining & nightlife, choose St. Thomas or St. Croix. 🚙 HOW TO GET AROUND -Rent a car! This gives you the most freedom to explore (and yes, they drive on the left side!). Taxis can get expensive, especially on St. Thomas and St. Croix. 🤿 WHAT TO DO -Beach hop! The beaches here are stunning and free to access! -Snorkeling and diving! On the last video about our day trip to the Bahamas a lot of you asked if a passport was needed so we figured we’d share a spot where you don’t need one! 📍St.John, USVI ✈️ You can get to this island by taking a ferry boat from St.Thomas. The ferry ride is around 20 minutes long (Red Hook ferry) and can be taken as regular passengers ($16 round trip per person but cheaper for kids) or with your car ($65 round trip). 📝 TIP: Get there at least 40 minutes early if you plan to take your car so you guarantee yourself a spot. 🚗 If you’re able to get a rental car, I HIGHLY recommend doing that because while this is my favorite beach on the island there’s definitely other top contenders to visit and it makes it so much more convenient. 🌊 The name of this beach is Trunk Bay and has a small admission fee (I think it was like $5 or $6 bucks a head) and there’s also food, drinks and bathrooms on site before you hit the beach ramp area. From the ferry drop off dock, it’s about a 15-18 minute drive or so. #stjohn #stthomasusvi #usvi #usvirginislands #nopassportrequired #ustravel #usatrip #bestbeachintheworld #trunkbay
