WAIT TILL THE END.... If you want to see actual results with practicing your axel over and over and still not landing it... read this! I have been skating for a year and a half and just landed my axel, CLEAN! These are five steps I took to help me land a clean axel... 1. Practice your axel 8-15 times per session⛸️ This one is super important because usually we do one of two options... 1) Practicing it a couple times and expecting results immediately or 2) over work our bodies and practice it 30+ times... I can tell you from personal experience that over working our bodies will just exhaust our system and burn us out, and underworking our body will give us slow results and lose our stamina. I promise you will see results if you practice 8-15 times per session continuously! 2. Make sure you have a CLEAN axel OFF ICE⛸️ I can't stress this enough, but if you are not stretching and practicing all your jumps off the ice, it will take you forever to get them on the ice! Practice your axel 10 times every single day off the ice, even if you dont go to the rink that day. This is a life changer! I used to hate stretching and practicing off ice but it is so crucial if you want to level up and not stay stuck in the same place for years! 3. SQUEEZ⛸️ This might sound super weird but my coach told me this and it seriously changed my axel for the better.. roll yourself like you would a burrito. What I mean by that is dont pull your arms to your body, but instead roll your body into your arms, and SQUEEZ. Its better to land with your feet crossed and falling down than to land on two feet, as i demonstrated in the video😭 Otherwise you will get used to the feeling of pushing out too quickly and it will be so hard to get out of that habbit. 4. COMMIT TO THE JUMP! ⛸️ Your hesitation kills your momentum and rotation, you’re either gonna do the jump & land or do the jump & fall... both will lead to your success so don't let your hesitation stop your momentum! 5. Set a clear axel goal⛸️ Setting a clear axel goal will push you to consistently practice your axel every day on and off the ice. I set my goal for August of this year, and I got it July 1st! YOU CAN DO IT!
