ADMost people have major misconceptions about AI.
Here are the 3 myths we see most often:
#1: “AI will replace all jobs”
Reality: AI will transform work, not eliminate it. Some jobs will change, others will stay, and entirely new roles will emerge.
#2: “AI is objective and unbiased”
AI learns from training data—if that data is biased or if developers weight certain information more heavily, the AI will be biased too.
#3: “More data always means better AI”
Quality beats quantity. Feed a model flawed data, get flawed responses. Input influences output. Clean, transparent data is always key.
These are just a few of the many myths out there.

TidalHack is a student-run hackathon at Texas A&M University where teams of students come together for a short, intense period—usually 24 to 48 hours—to design and build software projects from scratch, often with a focus on AI, data, or real-world impact. Participants brainstorm ideas, code prototypes, and present their work to judges, gaining hands-on experience, feedback, and the chance to win prizes while collaborating with other technically driven students.
