If your iron were low, you’d know… right? You expected pale. Weak. Fainting. Not this. Physical panic attacks with no anxious thoughts attached. Perpetual exhaustion that sleep doesn’t touch. We’ll likely see prostate cancer screening of some form rolled out in our lifetime . Vaccines for recurrent UTIs will be more widely used to reduce antibiotic use . DEXA scans are not routinely recommended for premenopausal women . It was great to catch up with my friends and colleagues. Met SO many people. It was good for the soul. Thank you @bonsecourscork for a fantastic conference! #medicine #health #womenshealth

I was caught in a cycle I couldn’t break. 🔄 3, 4, sometimes 5 UTIs a year. I felt like I was doing everything “right”—staying clean, drinking water—but it just kept coming back. It wasn’t until I moved to Germany and spoke to my doctor here that I realized my “healthy habits” were actually part of the problem. 🇩🇪🩺 Here is exactly what she told me to change: 1️⃣ Stop over-washing. I was washing 2+ times a day thinking it was cleaner. Wrong. She said “less is more” to protect the natural microbiome. Now, I only wash when truly needed with just a tiny drop of pH-balanced wash. 2️⃣ Public toilet protocol. NEVER sit directly on the seat. Either squat or use a sanitizer spray every single time. 3️⃣ Turn down the heat. I used to use hot water to clean, but she warned me that hot water can irritate the delicate tissue. Lukewarm is the way to go. 🚿 ✨ BONUS (The German Way): Never get cold feet! My doctor insisted on wearing slippers (Hauschuhe). Cold feet = poor pelvic circulation = higher infection risk. Keep those toes warm! 🧦 Disclaimer: “Not medical advice—just what worked for me! Consult your doctor.” I haven’t had an issue since making these shifts.
