The 5 Stages of Wagner:
• Grade 1: The Surface 🩹 | Superficial ulcer involving the full skin thickness (epidermis & dermis).
• Grade 2: Going Deeper 🦴 | The ulcer goes deep! Muscle, tendon, or bone are now exposed.
• Grade 3: The Danger Zone ⚠️ | This is where things get serious. Think Osteomyelitis (bone infection) and joint sepsis.
• Grade 4: Partial Gangrene 🖤 | The “Black” stage. Gangrene is limited to the toes or the forefoot (metatarsals).
• Grade 5: Extensive Gangrene 🚑 | The entire foot is affected.
