Why your knees crack and when wall sits can actually help 🦵🧱 Cracking isn’t automatically “aging”. It’s often harmless joint noise (tendons/gas bubbles). Sometimes it’s linked to poor control and weak muscles around the knee. ✅ What wall sits can do: stronger quads = more stability better knee tracking for stairs, squats, standing up isometric tension can feel knee-friendly for many people ⚠️ Real talk: “bones grinding” is usually exaggerated. And: cracking without pain is often fine. If there’s pain, swelling, locking, or injury, get it checked. WALL SIT VARIATIONS AND PROGRESSIONS 🥲 to target your thighs, glutes, core and more! Simple but effective exercise generally used for building isometric strength and muscular endurance in the quads, glutes, calves and core which delay fatigue and allows us to perform optimally for longer periods of time 🔥 👉🏽 You’ll see about 8 wall sit variations sprinkled throughout my COMMIT program starting right in week one with the traditional wall sit them progressing with weights and variations throughout. OR if you want a challenge right now, do them up, back to back to back baby ❤️‍🔥⤵️ 1️⃣ Traditional Wall Sit: keeping your back flat against a wall, walk feet out and slide backside down so hips are in line with knees and knees are over ankles. Make sure legs remain parallel without rolling in or out, keep your feet flat against the ground, core pulled tight, shoulders back and down. Hold hold hold! 2️⃣ Wall Sit Band Abduction: place the band above your knees and get into the wall sit position. As you hold the position, push out with your hips and move your knees away from each other in a controlled continuous manner. Adding a band helps put emphasis on good posture and more focus on the hip abductor muscles (ohh baby 🔥) 3️⃣ Dumbbell Overhead Wall Sit: You'll work your shoulders, arms, and back with the db overhead wall sit. Assume the wall sit with a dumbbell then start with the db at eye level, and raise it over your head until your arms are straight (biceps bear ear and be sure to keep your shoulders back and down, don’t wear them as earrings!) Your core should be tight, and your back shouldn't come away from the wall. 4️⃣ Wall Sit Press Out: Fire up your chest, shoulders, abs, and quads simultaneously with this wall sit variation. With a db the weight of your choice, squeeze your hands against the outside of the db and press out in front of you and bring it back to your chest in a controlled motion. 📲www.trainmk.com
