By putting ocean water under extremely high pressure and forcing it through a semi permeable membrane we are able to separate salt from fresh water and get clean drinking water anywhere in the world!! This allows me to be away from land indefinitely! 🏝️🌊 Installations like this are always a good effort and today I had to take off the navigators hat and become an electrician, plumber and carpenter 😂 Luckily when my old Watermaker broke @seawater_pro sent me this one and it’s been working great straight out of the box! This is not an ad, if the Watermaker doesn’t work well I will absolutely let you know but so far so good and I’m impressed at how quiet the water pump is compared to other units I’ve used in the past. Since the start of our journey in April 2024, refilling our water tanks had always been easy. We could simply connect a hose directly from shore to the boat, no need to haul heavy jerry cans back and forth. But that all changed when we left mainland Europe. Suddenly, every refill became an adventure. Now, we rely on our jerry cans, carrying water from land to the boat each time we need a top-up. We have nine 8-liter cans, giving us a total of 72 liters per trip. To completely fill our 360-liter tanks, we’d need to make five trips—something we’ve never actually done so far. Having a watermaker on board would make life so much easier. But for now, it’s simply out of our budget. Still, if we ever decide to sail to more remote places, investing in one would be a game-changer. ❓ What’s your opinion on investing in a watermaker?
