Here’s what’s been most important for us: 1. We protect our sleep like it’s our retirement fund. Deep, restorative sleep is when your body does most of its repair work. We’ve both addressed airway issues (I’ve worn an oral appliance for sleep-disordered breathing for years) so our sleep is oxygen-rich and restorative. No late-night email marathons, no doomscrolling in bed, no alcohol close to bedtime. 2. We eat for mitochondria, not for calories. Whole, unprocessed foods — which keeps insulin and inflammation low. Lots of polyphenol-rich plants, healthy fats, and high-quality protein to feed the cellular “power plants” (mitochondria). We eat in a time-restricted window, giving our bodies a nightly mini-vacation from digestion. 3. We treat the oral microbiome like the VIP that it is. No daily antiseptic mouthwash (kills the good guys in the mouth). Nano-hydroxyapatite toothpaste instead of fluoride. Oral probiotics and gentle cleaning habits to keep nitric oxide production strong for blood vessel health. 4. We strength train and move — but don’t overtrain. Muscle is an anti-aging organ. We lift weights, walk daily, and avoid the “weekend warrior” injuries that burned us out in our 30s. Morning sunlight for circadian rhythm and vitamin D — both huge for energy. 5. We keep stress from becoming our “default setting.” Short daily mindfulness practices, breathwork, and saying “no” more often. Less chronic stress means lower cortisol, better hormone balance, and less wear-and-tear on the body. 6. We never assume we can get all our nutrition from food. We take a variety of supplements every single day, including ✅magnesium ✅pentadecaonic acid ✅D3 ✅K2 ✅creatine ✅CoQ10 ✅digestive enzymes to maximize uptake (If you want this list sent to your DMs, comment VITAMIN below) Most people think energy loss in your 30s, 40s, and 50s is inevitable. It’s not. If you fix sleep, keep inflammation low, protect your muscle mass, and give your cells the nutrients and oxygen they need, you don’t just stop the downward slide — you actually climb back up.
