FIMy back used to look too wide in 2025. I only realized it because I cut.
Wider, trap-dominant, zero shape. And the worst part is I was following a “balanced” routine I found online when i first started. And that routine i followed when i was a beginner (LOOONG TIME AGO) made me work for a full year (2025-2026) JUST to fix it. That’s why i always ask you guys to double check your routines.
The truth is 90% of back routines are just lat routines.
Elbows close to your body = lats. Pull-ups, pulldowns, pullovers, single-arm rows = lats.
And poor positioning activates your upper traps without you even noticing.
Looking wide without wanting to, that’s usually the real problem.
I’m not demonizing lats, i can do 10 pull ups. I’m just explaining that not every session has to start with lat movements, you start with your weaknesses and finish with your strengths (or deprioritize what’s too overdeveloped for now)
