ROEver seen what magic looks like on skates? 🔮 It’s called Wizard Skating! Here’s 3 easy steps to learn a basic wizard move called Gazelle:
There are many variations to the move.. this one is a Fakie(back open) Gazelle. Demo by @bennnjiboo
*This requires you to have a Rocker Frame and to be comfortable with your edges. Practicing 2 foot slalom will help you with your corresponding edges (one skate on the inside edge and the other on the outside edge).
1. Practice in a circle. Carve backwards on your corresponding edges to turn, bend your knees, lead with your shoulder and keep your weight more to the toes area.
2. Pull the leading skate to start the rotation and switch your edges. Your skates will form a “V” and draw a “3” through the rotation. The motion is similar to a backwards Powerslide + a T-push.
3. Finish the move by pushing through the heels. You should be coming out of the move faster than your started it.
As you can see the attempt at the end still needs work on the 3rd step but it’s good to show work in progress! Try it, practice it and you got this 🙌🏽
