Yoga Teachers does social media make anyone else feel like a ‘bad’ teacher if they demo? 🙋‍♀️ I’ve found a lot of students are visual learners and need to SEE in order to learn. I’ve also found it super super helpful to demo when teaching beginners to yoga. You can demo AND be present with your students. It’s possible 😉 P.S. Just two days left to grab my 8-Week Beginner Yoga Curriculum for just $47 (normally $97) It’s a curriculum you can teach on repeat that takes your students on a journey of learning all the basic yoga poses and terms. Yes, it’s foundational and has lots of repetition, because beginners need repetition to learn. What you’ll get: 💜 8 written-out Beginner Yoga Sequences that take your students on a journey through learning how to do all the basic yoga poses and learn how to do each piece of the vinyasa. 💜 8 written-out dharma talks & intention setting scripts. The dharma talks teach the basic yoga terms and philosophy. 💜BONUS: 8 pictures sequences of each class plan (new update) 💜 BONUS: 8 Videos of me teaching the Beginner Yoga curriculum you can take! 💜 BONUS: 1 Spotify Beginner Yoga Playlist ➡️ Drop SALE below and I will message you the link and code to save! #larochelleyoga #yogateacher

Yoga teachers: let’s remember that not everyone can grab their foot behind them in half moon so explain more options! This sequence was a fun one to teach. Chopasana to dancer pose is tricky- it’s important that students understand the role of their core in that transition. Teach it without the grabbing of the foot first! ##yogateacher #yogaflow #vinyasayoga #onlineyoga #creativesequencing #yogasequencing #yogainspiration #yogasequence

YOGA Master IYENGAR- Sirsana (Headstand) Live Demonstration gone wrong!! Yoga teachers and students… ..What do you guys think about Iyengar’s reaction? 🤔😢 I was personally shocked as I saw this, such an inspiring teacher and wise man being impulsive and violent in front of other students..😒 You can watch the full video on Youtube. 🕉️Namaste Hari Om 🙏✨ - #iyengar #yogapractice #yogateacherlife #yogisofig #yogaeducation

I used to memorize theory I didn’t truly understand — because admitting I needed more study felt like failure. I repeated cues I didn’t resonate with — because I thought sounding “right” mattered more than teaching with clarity. I followed my sequence rigidly — afraid that changing anything mid-class would expose me as unprepared, even when it was clear my students needed something different. I filled the room with words — thinking silence meant I didn’t know enough, until the feedback landed hard: “You don’t have to talk so much.” Turns out, most of my real learning didn’t come from textbooks. It came from experimenting. From asking better questions. From messing up, reflecting, and trying again. Teaching isn’t about having all the right answers. It’s about listening — to your students, to the room, and to yourself. The best teachers are students first. Refining. Learning. Listening. Yoga teachers, what’s one thing you’ve had to unlearn? Let’s talk about it. teachwithclarity #alwaysastudent #yogateacherlife

7 of my best cues HERE👇🏼 This one is for my yoga teachers 💞 Yoga teachers, your cues are not just instructions. They’re invitations. Invitations into the body, into inner knowing, into the quiet intelligence beneath the noise of the mind. Interoception is the sacred skill of learning to hear yourself again. And when we cue beyond the physical asana, we help students remember that their bodies are not obstacles on the path. Their bodies are the path. These are the kinds of cues that change a room. The kinds of cues that soften armor, steady breath, and open meaning. Use them. Add to them. Let them land where they need to! This is how we teach yoga as the inner practice it was always meant to be. Here’s 7 new cues to add to your repertoire: 1. Let your breath be the bridge between who you were when you walked in and who you’re becoming now 2. Sense the difference between effort and strain; your body always knows the line before your mind admits it 3. Where you feel resistance is often where your next chapter is trying to open 4. Notice the first instinct of your body… that is the language of intuition 5. Soften one place you didn’t realize you were holding; witness what returns when you release what isn’t yours 6. Let each inhale show you what’s possible, and each exhale show you what you can let go of 7. The wisdom you’re seeking is already inside you… the practice simply clears the static so you can hear it Which cue are you using in your next class? 🤗 #yogacues #cues #yogateacher #asanacues

Getting feedback on my sequences really matters to me. First, bc I care deeply about my students and their actual experience in the room. And second, bc I share these sequences with yoga teachers inside my Sequencing Hub. If I’m putting something in your hands to teach, it needs to be refined, tested, and intentional. 🤌🏽 Here are 3 ways I gather real feedback on my sequencing: 1️⃣ Ask in real time. You can literally pause the flow and say, “Can you feel ____?” especially when you’re teaching something new or layered. This is gold when you’re experimenting with a complicated transition or building toward a peak. You’ll instantly know if your cues landed or if they need refining. 2️⃣ Be specific with your regulars. After class, compliment them on something you genuinely noticed (where they looked strong, steady, or really “in it.”) Then ask, “What did you think about that new transition?” Specific question = specific feedback. And your regulars often give the most honest insight! 3️⃣ Find a yoga teacher BFF. Someone who gets sequencing. Nerd out after class. Break down what worked. What felt clunky. Where the energy dipped. These convos sharpen your eye so fast. I’m so grateful for @leslievanbell being that person for me. 🤍 Inside my Sequencing Hub, every single sequence goes through a testing + feedback phase before it ever gets uploaded. I teach it. I refine it. I specialize the teaching notes. Then you get it 💫intentional + ready to use.💫 There’s a brand new, thoughtfully designed sequence waiting for you every week. Write “hub” ⬇️ and I’ll send you the details 🤍 #yogateacher #yogateachers #yogasequence #sequencinghub #ytt
