OLAre you working on your balance?
In my Older Fitter Stronger sessions, this is how we work on improving our balance:
1. Backwards walking - to work the back of the body and get the brain used to new skills
2. Fairy steps - destabilises us so we need to recalibrate and work harder to balance. With a head turn, even harder.
3. Moon Walks - works on a good gait pattern so you are more stable when you walk
4. Static fairy steps - with a head turn .
5. Side steps over an obstacle - hip strength and lower body stability
6. Toe Taps - as above
Only do these exercises if you are safe to do so and not at risk of falling over.
