The wings are meaty and juicy, there’s 60 !!! flavours to choose from and it’s good value for money IMHO! You can get a combo for one person with fries, a pound of wings and a pop for $17.99. We got the combo for 2 for $35.99 that included two pounds of wings, two pops and one large shareable loaded (Jafna) fries. The fries were so flavourful with a little kick of heat, like a little extra-seasoned ranch energy if you ask me. They’ve got your classic saucy flavours like bbq, honey garlic, dry rubs like lemon pepper, mixed sauces like caesar dill pickle parm but also Thai, Jamaican and Indian flavours. They’ve got all ranges of heat from not spicy at all the VERY hot and I recommend if you’re heat sensitive sticking to the lowest two levels. They’ve got bone-in, boneless and even cauliflower options! Been craving this spot since I had it last. It’s paired with a spread of 12 (very) delicious toppings, meats, and mix-ins that you can add into your personal pot. But you’ll want to bring a few friends or come hungry. Really hungry, like a bear coming out of hibernation hungry cause this restaurant is quite generous with their servings and even has ONE METER LONG platters! ($109.99 before tax split between 4 of us and we still left with takeout boxes) The staff at @alhalabires also informed us that they will likely be adjusting their hours for Ramadan 🙌 So if you ever find yourself at this restaurant, remember you’re not just there for a meal, you’re here for an experience. This place is Instagram GOLD but it’s also delicious! @alhalabires definitely makes our list for must try restaurants and experiences in the Ottawa Food scene. If you haven’t been to @pitabellkabab yet this is your sign! Wow. It’s a 10/10 Ottawa experience for me. The quality and value for price is top notch. I hadn’t been since 2019 and they’ve since moved to their new location which is beautiful inside. I’m so glad I finally went back. I highly recommend: 1. the Pita Bell Mix Family Platter ($89.99) and serves 5 people. We were a group of 4 and absolutely had enough left over for a whole extra meal, and we all left stuffed! The food is so good you can’t stop eating. The platter comes with 10 charcoal bbq skewers - 4 kabab (minced meat), 3 shish taouk (chicken breast) and 3 filet mignon steak skewers; so much incredible rice with almonds and raisins, salad, hummus, garlic sauce, and pita. And if you are a different size group, they have smaller and bigger options too. 2. Kunafa ($8.49) for the small can be shared with 2-3 people depending on how full you are. We were sooo stuffed from our kabab platter but couldn’t resist. 3. Tea pot ($7.99) this tea was so delicious! The staff showed us that in one pot is the tea concentrate, and the second pot stacked is the water to dilute it to your taste. It’s meant to be served with the dessert but we had it from the start of our meal and I really loved it together. 4. Lastly if you’ve never had the Turkish ‘cream soda’ Uludag Gazoz - I highly recommend trying this as well. 📍 1696 Carling Ave. Ottawa Pro tip: go with people you love and it tastes even that much better! This restaurant was recommended to me by @halalgirls613 wayyy back when we both started our pages in 2019 and it will always remind me of all the delicious places and foods (and more!) First of its kind and the grand opening is happening on Feb 10 on lunar new year day. 🥢 Xiao Long Bao are soup filled dumplings with a thin wrapper and it’s typically steamed. Dip it in vinegar and chilli oil and it’s a pair made in heaven. We tried a lot of the soup dumplings and our favourites were the pork and coriander, truffle and pork, shrimp and pork were all our top faves. For the pan fried dumpling we really enjoyed the curry beef! 🧧We are so excited to finally have this in Ottawa and we cannot wait for you experience this.
