🚨 EXAMTOPICS.com claims to have “verified” exam questions for the ACSM Certified Personal Trainer and ACSM Certified Clinical Exercise Physiologist exams. Our certification team reviewed these questions and they are NOT active exam questions. Many of the questions included on this site are on topics that are not even covered in the exams, and many important topics are omitted. New guidelines from the American College of Sports Medicine - seen as the industry gold standard. What should we be doing? Beginners should aim for 2 sessions a week of 4-8 exercises done for 2-3 sets. Focus on consistency, sticking to your programme, lifting to within 1-2 reps of failure and making your sessions progressively more challenging over time. Hope that helps 💪🏼Let’s stay in it for the long game #strongerwithage #healthspan #acsm

We’ve been overcomplicating strength training. The new ACSM paper makes that clear. It simplifies things more than it complicates them. After reviewing 137 systematic reviews, the conclusion is pretty clear: Most resistance training works. Not just one “perfect” program. Not one magic rep range. Not one ideal method. What actually matters: ✔️ Training with high effort ✔️ Training consistently ✔️ Hitting all major muscle groups ✔️ Doing it at least 2x per week That’s it. The paper makes this really clear: The difference between doing something vs optimizing something matters. Most people don’t need optimization. They need exposure + effort + consistency. And this is where I see women struggle the in perimenopause: You’re doing the workouts… But not with enough load Not close enough to fatigue Not long enough to drive adaptation So it feels like “nothing is working.” But the issue isn’t your body. It’s that your body hasn’t been given a strong enough reason to adapt. This paper reinforces something important: You don’t need a perfect plan. You need a challenging one. #resistancetraining #acsm

The ACSM just dropped its first resistance training update in 17 years — and the headline is refreshingly simple. 137 systematic reviews, 30,000+ participants, one takeaway: just start lifting. Barbells, bands, bodyweight — it doesn’t matter. Consistency beats perfection every time. For strength, go heavy (≥80% 1RM). For size, chase volume (~10 sets/muscle group/week). For power, move fast. The science caught up to what most of us already knew. 🏋️‍♂️ #ACSM #ResistanceTraining #EvidenceBasedMedicine #FitMD #ExerciseIsMedicine

Let's be honest for a second. The fitness world doesn't always do the best job of welcoming people who are already dealing with enough 💔 Complicated programs. Intimidating equipment. The idea that if you're not completely exhausted at the end of a workout, you didn't work hard enough. For breast cancer survivors who are managing fatigue, pain, surgical recovery, and side effects that nobody warned you about, that messaging isn't just unhelpful... it's harmful. So let's replace it with something better. Something science actually supports. 👉 You do not need to train until you can't move to get stronger 💪 In fact pushing your body to that point consistently increases your risk of injury AND lymphadema So for our bodies, that is not a risk worth taking. You do not need a specific machine or piece of equipment. Your muscles respond to resistance 🏋️‍♀️ End of story. You do not need a program so complex it requires a spreadsheet to follow. What you need is something you can do twice a week. Something that challenges your body without breaking it down. Something sustainable enough that six months from now you're still doing it. THAT is what the most comprehensive resistance training study ever conducted just told the world. And that's what I've been building toward inside the Foobs community all along 🙌 Drop STRONG in the comments if this series changed how you think about your training 🥰

👀 Have you seen/read/shared the new 2026 resistance training guidelines from ACSM? 🏋🏻‍♀️ What we’ve known for the past 15 years: strength training is important and we should aim to do it 2x a week. 🚨 What the update adds: strength training is STILL important and should be done at least 2x a week but a lot of factors have a lot more flexibility. 🙌🏼 📋 There is no perfect program! 🥵 Training to failure is not more beneficial (leaving 1-3 reps in the tank is cool!) 💊 Any equipment, band, dumbbell will do the job! 📈 Better power training guidelines ❤️ This is awesome news for PTs and other healthcare providers who work to get their clients stronger! 🧰 Expanding options for clients based on safety, goals, preference should help us continue to spread the message of getting more and more people moving…and loading! 🗣️ What do you think of the new guidelines? #acsm #strengthtraining #physicaltherapy

🔴 Certifications Cost More Than You Think! 👉 We have done our best to be as fair as possible in the cost comparison table and our more detailed price comparisons below, including publishing our competitor's lowest price when more than one price was located on their website. 👉 BrookbushInstitute.com is charging 29.99/month for a higher-quality all-inclusive platform, that you can enjoy from anywhere (phone or computer). The rest of the industry is charging $450.00 - $2000.00 to make you carry around a textbook, and take your exam at some inconveniently located, dingy testing center. And, like Blockbuster's dreaded late fees, this industry has standardized an unbelievable number of "after-the-fact" hidden costs. Go to our profile 👉 @BrookbushInstitute Click on linkin.bio/brookbushinstitute Choose this image

The strength training rulebook just got its first major update in 17 years. 137 studies. 30,000+ participants. Here’s the one thing they confirmed ⬇️ The ACSM dropped new guidelines this week — and the headline isn’t a complicated protocol. It’s this: doing resistance training consistently is the most important factor. Volume, load, and split all matter — but they’re secondary to showing up. The new guidelines also explicitly link strength training to longevity, cognitive function, and metabolic health. This is not just about looking good. It’s about functioning well for decades. 💬 What does your current training split look like? Drop it in the comments. 🔖 Save this and send it to the person who keeps waiting for the “perfect” plan. #StrengthTraining #ACSM #FitnessResearch #ResistanceTraining #LouisMFitness FitnessAfter40 LiftingScience Longevity ConsistencyWins ExerciseScience @louismfitness
