Arm swing. If you develop a certain odd swing over time, you will never know how differently you swing your arms from someone else unless you are told and helped to adjust. Unbalanced arm swing is common. The Soldier at the front has no back swing fir his left while his right hand swings farther forward than the left. The Marine's left arm bending at the elbow is actually common. I would say there's at least one cadet in every unit who swings while bending the elbow on the back swing for at least one arm. The Sailor moves side-to-side. That means he's not using his hips effectively enough to keep his torso from moving. His arm swing seems to be wide on the back swing and narrow going forward and he bends his elbows. The Airman and Guardian are doing well. 🔆Education is 🔑! . 🔹Read your manuals! That said, this technique seems to force extraordinarily poor posture and a wide variation of technique. You can see the hunched posture with fairly good arm swing and the erect posture that forces the torso and head to move side-to-side with arms swinging outward at the front and inward at the rear. #AdjudicationInsights #MakeAdjudicationGreatAgain 🔆Education is 🔑! . 🔹Read your manuals! Color bearers really should have been escorted by two guards, one in front and one behind. The rest of the team (why are they there?) can follow along behind but not in the same formation unless you are forming an historical team, which doesn't make sense. Sounding Taps is for the end of the day and at funerals. That's it, it's not a tune of remembrance sounded at memorials just because. TSA is under the Department of Homeland Security, the department that was the liberty-eroding catch-all from the early 2000s. Do you practice how to handle problems in your routine? If not, you need to start today. Two ways to handle this particular situation. 1) the Marine steps out of formation and retrieves the rifle himself. Benefits - he recovers quickly. The routine can get back in motion without the crowd waiting. Cons - he steps out of formation and does not look like the rest of the Marching 24. 2) the inspector stops, retrieves the weapon, and gives it to the Marine. Benefits - the team maintains uniformity and cohesion. Cons - the sequence is halted and momentum takes a big hit. Looks are everything here. Members of the @silentdrillplatoon know exactly what to do when problems arise: maintain the team's strong look and let the commander or inspector handle the rest. You have to weigh the benefits against cons. If you are in a timed competition, choose option 1 every single time. Get the routine back in motion ASAP! 🔆Education is 🔑! . 🔹Read your manuals!
