Gone overnight.
A few weeks ago, I uploaded a reel on my Card Genius account sharing how my wife and I stayed at Taj Madikeri Resort & Spa, Coorg for our anniversary — almost entirely using credit card reward points. Honest content. The kind I have been creating for years.
Instagram disabled that account.
I started fresh with a new page and uploaded a similar reel. Instagram then disabled my main account ca.swarajjain as well — the Blue Tick account that had been active for 4+ years with a completely clean history.
No warning. No explanation. Just —
"Our technology found your account doesn't follow our rules."
I filed an appeal. Submitted documents. Did everything asked of me. The response — "You cannot appeal again."
I am not writing this to blame Instagram or Meta. Platforms operate at scale and automation is necessary. I understand that.
But when an algorithm replaces human judgment entirely, genuine creators and honest businesses get caught in the crossfire. A verified account with a 4-year clean history deserves at least one human review before a permanent decision is made.
To every creator reading this — back up your content, build an email list, own your website. We are all building on rented land.
I have requested a human review and I am still waiting.
