MAHow long does AimPoint really take? ⏱️
This is just my way of doing AimPoint — and it works for me.
Some players take an AimPoint read and a traditional walk-around, which is why it’s gotten a bad reputation for being slow.
But I’ve been doing AimPoint for over 10 years, and putting has always been the best part of my game.
✅ Most of my read happens while others are putting.
✅ When done right (which most don’t), it’s actually faster than a traditional read.
In this video, I time how long it really takes me from start to stroke. 👀

Start by visualizing what a good putt looks like and the path the ball will take to the hole. Then, use Aimpoint to confirm your read by feeling the slope in your feet in the middle of the putt and holding up the coinciding fingers behind the ball. The faster the green is the closer you'll hold your hand to your eyes. Aimpoint can be your main guide or a backup confirmation for your putting reads. Give it a try!

KYWhen it comes to putting, some prefer Aimpoint, which bases your line on a linear path with the putt breaking off that line. Others, like myself, read putts through the high point where the putt breaks. I focus on finding the line where my ball will roll over this high point. Experiment reading putts in both a linear and curved fashion to see which best suits your game for better accuracy and control on the greens!
