JOFor days after treatment, their body is still clearing out the chemo — which means their body fluids can be toxic.
So we follow extra precautions at home:
• Nappies are bagged before throwing them away
• Gloves on for every nappy change
• If they vomit, clean it straight away
• Clothes, towels, or sheets are washed separately
• Nothing gets mixed in with the rest of the laundry
It’s one of those behind-the-scenes parts of cancer care people don’t often see.
The quiet, careful things you do to keep everyone safe — while still just trying to be “normal” at home.
Did anyone explain these chemo safety rules to you before you went through it?
