XOPlease keep my city in your thoughts. We are safe and evacuated. Our house is still standing but the embers and surrounding gas fires still pose a risk. This footage is from our beautiful neighborhood which is mostly destroyed and the rest of the city’s loss is devastating. My 89 year old grandmother lost her house and her rental properties. I lived in her poolhouse during PA school and have so many fond memories there throughout my life (last clip). My aunt, many friends, and colleagues have lost everything. I’m also mourning the loss of our historic homes and so many neighborhood spots including where my husband and I had our first date and the country club where my parents got married. Even if our house makes it through, the smoke damage will be problematic. At the end of the day the most important thing is our safety and sense of community- we will rebuild the rest. #AltadenaStrong ❤️🩹
