GRFriends, stick with me on this - I need you to know what’s happening in bc politics, what’s happening inside the legislature.
In recent week bills were introduced by One BC and independent MLAS to:
- Repeal the deceleration on the rights of indigenous people act,
- Cancel the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation
- Ti stop the courts from interpreting laws consistent with indigenous rights,
- To prohibit DEI in post secondary institutions.
- Ban land acknowledgments
- Reverse the Declaration Act under the guise of property rights
These bills came from members that the BC Conservatives elected,brought into the house and the BC Conservatives themselves voted in favour of almost every single one of these bills.
There was a time where the commitment to reconciliation and the declaration act was a shared value that crossed party lines.
