VIPeople love to argue online that this “jump” is normal. It’s not. Here’s a simple self-check you can do right now. Hold your finger out in front of you. Close one eye, then switch to the other. In normal binocular vision, your finger stays in the same spatial position while your perspective shifts slightly. If the finger appears to jump side to side or up and down when you switch eyes, that’s not normal. That means each eye is seeing the target in a different spatial location, and your brain has to work overtime to fuse it. This is one of the easiest ways to spot a binocular vision issue on your own. 📍 Vivid Visions Optometry, Inc. is in Valencia, California. We also offer virtual consultations and guidance.
