BABeignets from princess and the frog
Recipe (made 24) inspiration from Kai.

1/2 cups + 1/3 cup whole milk, warm
1/4 cup sugar
1 pack Instant yeast
1 egg ,room temp
2 tsp vanilla extract
2 1/3 cup flour
1 1/4 tsp salt
3 tbsp unsalted butter,softened

Powdered sugar
Honey
1. Activate the yeast
In a small bowl, whisk together warm milk, sugar and yeast,
2. Add in melted butter, and egg.
stir in flour and salt gradually until a soft dough forms.
Knead for 5–6 minutes (by hand or mixer) until smooth and slightly tacky but not sticky.
3. Let it rise
Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a towel or plastic wrap, and let rise in a warm spot for 1 to 1½ hours, until doubled in size.
4. Roll and cut
Punch down the dough and roll it out on a lightly floured surface to about ¼ inch (0.6 cm) thick.
Cut into 2½-inch (6 cm) squares using a sharp knife or pizza cutter.
5. Fry
Heat oil in a deep pot to 350°F (175°C).
Fry beignets 3–4 at a time for 1–2 minutes per side, until golden brown and puffed.
Remove and drain on paper towels.
6. Dust & serve
Generously dust with powdered sugar while still warm — don’t be shy, it’s part of the charm!
Serve immediately (they’re best fresh and fluffy).
